Masonic Service

The family has scheduled the Masonic Service for

4:30 pm on Thursday Sept. 29th

Preformed by the Officers of Star in the East Lodge

so that the L.O.I. does not need to be cancelled.

Normal protocol is a dark business suit, but for those Officers of Star in the East Lodge and Officers of the Lodge of Instruction you may wear your TUXEDO to save time in returning to Fall River for the L.O.I


The funeral Home is located at MACKINNON FUNERAL HOME, 158 Middleboro Road, East Freetown.

Directions Exit 8 off Rt 140 Chace Road toward Cathedral Camp, cross County Road on to Mason Road all the way to the end, then take a left on to Middleboro Road and the Funeral Home is on the right.

or RT 18 North (acushnet avenue) bear right at split across from Cathedral Camp.

Richard B. Pierce of Acushnet died unexpectedly, Sept. 27, 2011 at the age of 87.

Richard B. Pierce born in Middleboro, Mass. 11/04/1923 the son of Dorothy R.(Baker)Pierce & Leon B. Pierce.

Attended Yarmouth High School graduating in 1941.

Married to Bertha V. (Westgate) Pierce.

Attended a Technical School majoring in Aircraft Engine Repairs. Worked for the goverment as a civil service employee for both the Army & Navy as an Aircraft Mechanic, during World War II.

Worked for the Acushnet Company for forty two years retiring as a Lab Technician. Was a member & past master of Wamsuta Lodge AF & AM in New Bedford, Mass and Star in the East Lodge in New Bedford And holder of the Joseph Warren Distinquished Service Metal. Was a member & Past Master of Social Harmony Lodge AF & AM in Wareham. Was a Pof the 26th Lodge of instruction.

A member of the Old Colony Masonic Past Masters Association. A 32nd degree Mason & member of Old Colony Consistory, S.P.R.S. in the Valley of Southeastern Massachusetts And A holder of the Meritorious Service Award Fall River Lodge of Perfection, Samuel C. Lawrence Council.

Princes of Jerusalem, & Saint Andrew Chapter of Rose Croix, a member of Wareham Chapter of Royal Arch Masons and Past High Priest.

A member of Adoniram Royal Arch Chapter in New Bedford. Sutton Commandery NO. 16K.T. A Shriner and Member of ALEPPO TEMPLE, A.A.O. N. M. S. In Wilmington.

A member and Past Master of Metacomet Daylight Lodge AF& AM in Taunton. A member of Cawnacome Sunshine Lodge in Bourne.A member of Massasoit - Narragansett Lodge Fall River.

A member of Mayflower York Rite College No.105 of Mass. A member of Agawam Chapter No.121 Order of Eastern Star.

A member of the Grand Council of Knight Masons of the United States of America. A member of the Massachusetts Society of Mayflower descendants . A Member of the Acushnet / Wesley United Methodist Church.

A member of AARP. A member of the SHRINE CLUB of SOUTHEASTERN MASS. and Past President. A member of the ROYAL TRAVELERS.

His hobbies were, Golf, Fishing, Bicycle Riding, Wood Working and working on Fund Raisers for the Shriners and Salvation Army.

Survived by three children, Kathleen S. Plante and her husband, Ronald A. Plante of East Freetown, Douglas B. Pierce of New Bedford, Cindy L. Pierce of Acushnet and Seven Grandchildren. And his companion, Audrey L. Reynolds of New Bedford.

Visiting Hours in the MacKinnon, South Coast Chapel, 158 Middleboro Road (Rt. 18)East Freetown, on Thurs. the 29th of Sept. 4pm to 8pm

Funeral Services will be held at the Acushnet - Welsley United Methodist Church, 67 Main Street, Acushnet on Friday morning at 10:am.

Internment following in Acushnet Cemetery.

Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend.
